PM Narendra Modi to Visit Kanpur on May 30 for One-Day Tour; To Inaugurate Metro Phase-2 and Power Plants

Kanpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Kanpur on May 30 for a one-day tour packed with major inaugurations and a massive public rally. The visit is being seen as a major push for infrastructure development in the region ahead of upcoming key events in the state.

As part of his visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the second phase of the Kanpur Metro project, a significant step forward in strengthening the city’s urban transport infrastructure. He will also unveil two major power projects — the Ghatampur and Panki power plants — aimed at boosting energy capacity and fulfilling regional electricity demands.

In a grand public meeting to be held at Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, PM Modi is expected to address a large gathering of citizens, outlining the government’s vision for development and Kanpur’s future in that roadmap.

₹21,000 Crore Worth of Projects for Kanpur

During his visit, PM Modi will dedicate development projects worth ₹21,000 crore to the people of Kanpur, including investments in metro expansion, energy infrastructure, and other urban development initiatives. These projects are expected to significantly improve transportation, power supply, and economic growth in the region.

Security and Administrative Preparations in Full Swing

Ahead of the Prime Minister’s arrival, Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar and Principal Secretary have reviewed preparations and security arrangements at various locations. Local administration, security agencies, and the Special Protection Group (SPG) are coordinating closely to ensure a smooth and secure visit.

The people of Kanpur are eagerly awaiting the Prime Minister’s arrival, as the visit is set to not only boost regional development but also highlight the government’s continued focus on strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s infrastructure and public services.
